Thank you to all the families who joined us for our recent Teddy Bear Picnic. It was a lovely way to mark the children鈥檚 transition into their new class.
The sun was shining, the children loved their picnic, and they were delighted by a surprise visit from the Long Close teddy, who joined in the fun and games.
We鈥檙e so proud of how ready all our children are for their next chapter, and we know they鈥檒l thrive in September.

Our Prep students had a magical day at The Story Museum yesterday, exploring the world of storytelling through workshops, gallery tours and city walks.
Prep 1 and 2 took part in a Story Tricksters workshop, where they discovered tales featuring classic trickster characters like Anansi the Spider and Reynard the Fox, before creating and retelling their own versions. They also enjoyed an Alice in Wonderland walk through Oxford, bringing the story to life in its original setting.
Prep 3 and 5 joined the Story Portals workshop, exploring how characters travel between worlds in classic stories like Alice in Wonderland and The Chronicles of Narnia. Prep 4 and 6 took part in a Fantasy Maps workshop, learning about quest stories and exploring how maps help shape imaginary journeys.
All pupils explored the museum鈥檚 galleries, entering a magical forest filled with hidden stories, dressing up in the dragon room, and enjoying exhibits inspired by beloved books such as Winnie the Pooh, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Alice in Wonderland and The Snowman. Prep 3 to 6 also took part in a Narnia-themed walk around Oxford.
What a wonderful day it was for our Prep students - full of creativity, imagination and fun!

One of the many highlights of our summer term is undoubtedly our Early Years Sports Day!
Children from Nursery, Pre-school and Reception competed in a variety of races and events, assisted by some of our older students. 聽The children showed great determination and confidence taking on the various sporting challenges.
A huge well done to all ! We are very proud of how hard they tried and thank you to all our parents who came to support, cheer and even participate in a race or two of their own at the end! What a fun morning had by all.

Children from babies to 4 years are invited for a fun session of craft, games, story and songs with a seaside theme!
Please note booking is no longer required for our playgroup session. Admission will be on a first come first entry basis and once we have reached our capacity we will not be able to admit any further entries. We do therefore recommend arriving on time.
Car Parking is available in Upton Court Car Park, next to Long Close.

Our students thoroughly enjoyed Cultural Day yesterday at Long Close. This special day was a celebration of the wonderful diversity within our school community, and we invited all students to come dressed in traditional clothing that represented their culture. To mark the occasion, our excellent Chef Mark prepared a delicious cultural lunch and students had the opportunity to have henna done on their hands.
What a fantastic opportunity for everyone to take pride in their heritage and to learn about the cultures of their friends and classmates.

Our Prep students had an unforgettable `WOW Week` last week filled with adventure, creativity, and discovery!
From team-building challenges in Upton Court Park to baking and decorating cookies with Chef Mark, every day brought new opportunities to learn and have fun.
A special highlight was Careers Morning with a Prep 4 parent, who gave fascinating insights into the music industry. We also got hands-on with science, explored sportsmanship at Sports Day, and ended the week with a magical trip to Legoland.

From Year 1 to Year 10, our pupils gave their all in a wide range of events, from sprints, long jump, relay races, sack races, shot put, vortex throws, and long-distance runs. Each race showcased determination, teamwork, and true sportsmanship.
It was wonderful to see parents cheering from the sidelines, creating an encouraging and supportive atmosphere for the students and even taking part in a Dad鈥檚 race!
Thank you to our wonderful Head of PE and to everyone who made the day such a success. We鈥檙e already looking forward to next year!
